Spotlight on Cinnamon Girls

Spotlight on Cinnamon Girls

Journey into the world of sugar and spice and all things nice, with Cinnamon Girls – a Melbourne based, girls fashion label spanning 4 generations of the Brearley family.

We sat down and spoke to Peter Brearley – Managing Director of Cinnamon Girls and his daughter, Georgie who are taking the girls fashion market with their range of casual and special occasion dresses.

Q- Tell us about Cinnamon Girls

Peter- Cinnamon Girs started about 20 years ago back in 1995. The business ‘Brearley Apparel’ was started in 1939. Over the years Brearley Apparel have developed and sold many children’s wear labels including Lady Bird, Hush Puppies and our most successful label Cinnamon Girls. Cinnamon Girls was established as there was a high demand for little girls dresses.
Georgie –  We make things that we wish we could still wear.  Every time we design a new fabric or dress I just imagine it in adult size and think ‘oh wait I cant get away with that!’.
I just love all the out there designs we have the freedom to do.I have always had a strong passion for clothing and fashion especially kids fashion. I love how kids can make anything look good. They could literally wear 5 different floral patterns and absolutely rock it.

Q- How do you find your inspiration for each new range?

Peter – Our ranges are influenced from World Travel, Trade Fairs, customer feed back and put together each season by Georgie and myself. We source a lot of our designs from the American and European market.  Within each range we run a variety of different styled dresses. We like to include everything from your classic cotton sundress to something a little bit more fancy in each of our ranges.

Q- We love your new collection – tell us about it!

Georgie – We are so excited about the new Summer 2016 collection – it is one of my favorite collections so far. There’s a bit of everything this season- lots of floral, bright colours, crazy prints, broderie, organza, matching belts, cut out shapes and stunning unique details. There is a dress for every occasion imaginable. We were so excited to see it on the runway!

Q- Why The Little Runway?

Georgie – I attended the event last year and absolutely loved it and was thinking the whole time how good Cinnamon Girls would look walking down the runway. We are so excited to be apart of Kids Fashion Week and The Little Runway this year and to gain some great exposure and show parents and their daughters our fantastic brand. The event was the BIG reveal of our Summer 2016 collection where we could show off our brand new, never seen before designs down the runway.
The Cinnamon Girls brand instillation was ‘party themed’ and was a great place, not only for people to see the range, but also a fun hang out for the kids – the cinnamon donuts and lollies were a huge hit!

Q- So, where can we get our hands on some Cinnamon Girls?

Peter – Cinnamon Girls is stocked all over Australia and NZ. in Major Department stores like Myer and select small boutiques. We also sell on our own website – www.cinnamongirl.com.au

Oh Donut Even ......

Hmmmm. Donuts.

The delicious rings of fried dough are so good they sparked their own fashion and interior trend for your mini (not to mention a whole lot of bad jokes and word plays).

Check out some of our favourite donut finds that will be sure to make you feel like driving to Fountain Gate at midnight to go though the Krispy Kreme drive through.
